Sells sick pups and refuses to pay for their medical bills

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
Stay clear of Prada Puppies and owner Jessie, she sells sick pups. Upon picking up my pup that evening terrible choking cough, had to make emergency vet appointment, also discovered she had parasites. Vet gave me “UnFit For Sale “ documentation of which I submitted to state. Only to find other reviews with the same experience. This was more than 4 months ago and much expense to me. Jessie promised every day to pay vet bills, as of yet no bill was ever paid. State is now involved . I suggest anyone thinking of Prada Pups due diligence and stay clear. She is not a breader of Labs only a broker of pups from who knows where...

Did she give you paperwork stating the name of the breeder? She says she always does ( it's the law) but we find that in many instances she is not. There's a COMPLAINTS page on Facebook that tries to warn people about her.

Nope.. and I went to state as veterinarian told me to do with the certificate of Unfit For Sale. No response as of yet nor any money which was promised to help pay the medical bills..

Wonderful!!!

Prada Puppies - Wonderful!!!
I purchased a Havachon from Them in December. It was the best decision I could have made! Our puppy is awesome. She is healthy smart and snuggly. Their facility was clean and we felt welcome there. I highly recommend them.

Did you see where the puppy was born, and the parents? Yes the facility is clean - they only spend a couple weeks there.

Ask to see where they were born and then decide. This is a broker you are buying from. Please do your research and make an INFORMED choice.

These puppies mostly come from puppy mills and industrial breeding facility. They are cruel to animals.

I know they are a broker! I don’t need your advice! Stop trolling!

Guest
reply icon Replying to comment of Guest-1456112

So, you KNOW she brokers for puppy mills, but because you got a cheap healthy puppy, it's okay. That's not really surprising but it is shameful.

Guest
reply icon Replying to comment of Guest-1456112

So, it's okay as long as you got what you wanted, a cheap puppy. Horrible.

Guest

YOU trolled on here - it's a site called "Pissed Consumer." Jess asked people to put good reviews on here to offset the bad ones - which are all TRUE. Yes, some of the dogs are healthy and the correct breed, but many are not! And she does not make those right with the customers.

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
My family member bought an English bulldog the dog has Cherry eye. Reached out several times just the run around. His vet does not do the procedure. I reached prada cause someone else i know bout a English bulldog and prada apparently worked with them. Avoids phone calls. But if u call from another phone she asnswers. Just not the way you should handle business. But she could communicate when she was getting paid. Never again.

You never told me or her that. It does not take weeks to say i don't have a date.

If that was the case i would have moved on a long time ago. I stopped contacting you because i can smell bs. So she started contacting you. You could be reached when you wanted the money for the sale of the dog.

And you are not a breeder but thanks for offering the 200. We got it taken care of.

Guest

All of us. It was two people.

You asked me to call i do no answer no call back. You talked more to my dads girlfriend. We bought the dog from you. His vet does not perform the surgery.

So i called you. First it was wait a week. I call back with text messages to prove. You finally reach me.

Call me Thursday as you told my dads girlfriend. I call left a voicemail no call back. My dads girlfriend started to call you. You stated you didn't have a date and offered $200.00 towards and we have to come get it now in the middle of a thunderstorm.

Thanks. Always two sides to every story.

I offered the $200 because that is what we pay after telling everyone 5 times we would not have a date until after May 30th which was not fast enough for you. Again we did not say we would not cover it and told Everyone we spoke to we would not have a date until the end of May.

Guest

We have Spoken to all of you MORE then once. We were contacted April 14th the Bulldog had a cherry eye which we 100% cover thru over vet (FYI 99% of breeders do not even cover them) we explained we WAIT at least 30 days to make sure the other one will not go.

And we were not able to do any cherry eye reapairs until the End of May. We told you 6 times we do not have a date yet but will cover it. We ALSO stated if you did not want to wait you could come here and get the CASH of what we pay our vet to use toward a different vet. We were told you dont trust us to do that?

We have Repaired tons of cherry eyes over the years for clients sometomes it can NOT happen over night as its NOT a major issue and our vet is a smaller practice that has alot of other surgerys to fit.

We tried to accommodate you but unfortunately you did not like the time frame. We have and always have stood behind cherry eyes and have had them repaired with no issues

Hi Guys... it's seems the haters have been crazy on Pissed Consumers website (not sure of the link sorry) Google Pissed Consumers Prada Puppies brings it up with reviews about Prada Puppies. It's the ONLY place on the internet we HAVE bad reviews because it's basicly highjacked by activists and you do not have to have "proof" of any claims. As everyone knows we aren't into drama but unfortunately it seems people just want to believe that. So if there are positive ones in there they will see them too. Our roll calls get 400 plus "real" people but guess that does not count If anyone would like to go leave a positive review of your experience with us would be helpful to balance it out as it seems people only believe neg reviews. It's just super annoying. It takes about 2 min and would be extremely helpful Thanks so much for your help We LOVE our Facebook Family we would not be who we are with out you guys 20 years of the Best of the Best *** you will get horrible comments under your post just smile and ignore *** they sink their own boat And just an FYI : we are not rude, disrespectful, defensive ect. We are 100% truthful, open and I guess blunt. Unfortunately when people do not get the response they " want" we become those things in their mind. We love what we do, we love our clients and most of all love our puppies We would rather be 100% transparent, truthful and "hurt" some feelings along the way then try to pretend we are something we are not.

Guest

It's a reviews page ... why would it go up to 4 stars and ask you to rate if it was just for complaints?

It's obviously not.

We actually HAVE a open Facebook page run by some Awesome ladies that's called Prada Puppies Complaints. Guess what really none there either

Guest
reply icon Replying to comment of Guest-1456705

There are complaints on that page, everything from d ad puppies a week after purchase, to papers not provided. 3 out of 5 we're given no breeder information and apon requesting it we're given a myriad of excuses. You're breaking the law, Prada Puppies, and the only reason is because you KNOW that if one person tells on you, you might pay a tiny fine vs having EVERYONE KNOW where your puppies come from.

Don’t believe all you read

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
I have the most perfect little to color yorkie that we got from Prada Puppies. I found this “venting outlet” after I place a deposit on Zoey. For days I mulled over in my head with my husband whether we should just ask for our money back. After having another dog at home (in which we adopted) these reviews had me worried she would get him sick. I was scared as while I read a lot of positive reviews it’s the negative reviews that you listen to more. Well I’m glad that I went with my gut. Zoey is the most loving, affectionate, gentle dog. I am so happy I have her. We have never had ANY health issues with her. When we first got her she did take a few months to actually cuddle and sit wit you. She was a loner and while she trusted us she preferred to sit by herself. Now every morning before we get out of bed she can’t get herself close enough. Don’t believe all the negative. Jess is very transparent and all of these reviews. While some people may not like her ways or personality (she’s from Jersey her personality is no different than anyone else’s) it doesn’t mean she does harm or sells sicks puppies. My suggestion is don’t believe everything you read... I’m glad we didn’t.

Did you see where your puppy came from originally - where it was born? Where the parents were?

It only spends a SHORT amount of time at Prada Puppies, enough to make money for the owner/breeding facility. Look up puppy mills and industrial breeders and learn the truth. No one is trying to bash a person or people's "choices." Just trying to educate them on the TRUTH.

Animals suffer so people can MAKE MONEY. I would want to know what i was spending my hard-earned money on if it were me...

Did you receive a name and address for the breeder of your puppy, as required BY LAW? If you didn't you might ask yourself why that would be.

DO NOT PURCHASE A PUPPY FROM JESS DURKIN!

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

Unfortunately, I was suckered into the adorable face of a puppy that led me to forgo investigating the selling practices of this swindling, insincere business owner. Had I read these reviews, I would have thought twice!

My puppy was diagnosed with parasites: coccidia and giardia and had to have fluids administered twice due to severe, explosive diarrhea. I reached out to Jess several times, since she told us to "call or text me if you have any issues." 1.) She promised to send us medication (she isn't a vet so how does she have access to prescription medications?) and NEVER did. 2.) Becomes defensive as soon as you question and immediately says to return the dog. 3.) Makes promises to refund you for medications necessary, even though she says she will "put you on credit." The health and welfare of the animals is not her priority.

PLEASE, IF YOU ARE READING THIS, SAVE YOURSELF STRESS ANXIETY AND $$$$$....... I will be reporting her practices to Consumer Affairs.

I bought a Bulldog from Prada a few years ago. Owning a bulldog is a great experience but it’s also a lot of work. Often times they need special care due to some of their quirks as a breed. Many times I’ve needed to consult Jess and her expertise on the breed has been a tremendous help. She has saved me so much time, hassle and money in raising my pet. I would highly recommend Prada’s services to anyone looking for a quality pet and contact for pet care.

I was thinking about getting one. Would you describe the quirks your dog has, specifically, that this seller helped you with?

Guest
reply icon Replying to comment of Guest-1456028

Ok sure.Bulldogs have shortened snouts that comes inherent with Breathing issues. As a result getting the dog fixed costs 800-900 at most places I’ve checked. Evidently they need a prescreening to gauge their ability to use anesthesia successfully and special equipment to monitor their breathing while under.

Even then it’s still risky. I have an acquaintance who actually lost his English bulldog because he couldn’t be resuscitated after a minor procedure.Between the price and risk I have held off on getting him fixed for the time being, which creates its own set of challenges, but that’s another conversation. Because my dog wasn’t fixed it was proving difficult and quite costly to have him watched for a week while my wife and I took our honeymoon. Evidently most cageless dog cares won’t allow unfixed males.

I called Jess to ask her for recommendations on a realiable and responsible doggy care with Bulldog experience. After I explained my situation to her she insisted that he stay with her for the week. I tried to pay her but she flat out refused to take my money.

We went on our Honeymoon and enjoyed our experience completely carefree knowing that our puppy was with someone who knew exactly how to take care of him. While he was there she even fixed a few bad habits I unwittingly taught him and gave me some products to take with me that helped with his allergies.Obviously I can’t say she would do that for any one of her clients but she did it for me and I was extremely grateful. There have been many other times where I needed to call her for advice and every time I did she was spot on.For what experience I’ve had with her, the practical knowledge she possesses about Bulldogs is quite extensive and I would listen to her advice even before my own Vet.

Her bulldogs look like frogs. And she's only been testing them for 2 generations.

She could have been putting bullfrogs together for as long and most of her buyers couldn't tell the difference! Sad. Look at the standard. Just like anything, you must understand the rules before you can break them.

So proud of your pups? Then put them on a proper flat surface so buyers can see the genetic nightmare you've produced.

One of us is speaking from experience and it certainly isn’t you. My Bulldog is the greatest pet I’ve ever had and you have no ideal what your talking about.

You need to get a life and stop being so buthurt over whatever she said too you.

I bet your probably some fool who tried to come at her disrespectful and got a verbal smack down. Go lick your wounds somewhere else and stop cyberstalking a person you’ve never even done business with.

Jess Durkin can't deliver a real verbal smack down, which is why she has to resort to lies, manipulation and BLOCKING. I happen to know enough about sound structure to see through the expensive camera photos. She sells to an audience that is keenly unaware of not only the tactics she employs, but also structure and general conformation.

Guest
reply icon Replying to comment of Guest-1457382

Well my knowledge of sound structure and general conformation got me an awesome Bulldog at a fraction of what I should have paid along with a person to help guide me through ownership, looks like yours just got you bent out of shape so that begs the question whose decision making is flawed here and whose isn’t.

Did you see where your puppy was born, and the female dog who gave birth? Did you ask how many litters she births?

Don't give your money to an "in-between" person - ie. a broker.

Go to the breeder, or save a life at a shelter. Yes that takes time and they are picky, but they have to be.

Guest

Some adoption agencies are too strict, but there are always great dogs at the shelter. If you must have purebred, why not go directly to the breeder?

That's the only way you can know for sure you're not dealing with puppy mill puppies.

Jess is well known to source from them. Just saying...

Illegitate Seller

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
I never even made it to purchasing or even discussing purchasing a dog from this seller before Jess (I am assuming the owner) disrespected me. I posted a comment on FB telling people to Google the seller first because I read a lot of bad reviews. Well apparently negative comments aren’t allowed on the page (which is extremely biased) so the sellIer screenshotted my comment and made a rude example out of me. I politely contacted her asking her to remove it and she refused and got very confrontational. I then called because I thought I was talking to a younger individual online (they were replying “lol” and not being professional at all) but then I spoke to Jess and she said she in fact was the one I was speaking with. She then began to yell at me and tell me that she was not going to remove it. I tried to reason with her and even apologized but she still refused. She said that she is “pissed because people keep leaving negative comments” - which as a business owner she is doing nothing to address!

She won't allow reviews on her page, and any comments or questions that she does NOT like are deleted, and the person is blocked. Is that what a good business-person does?

NO. Yet people keep buying because the puppies are cute.

Most times the DO NOT see where the puppies are born, or the parents, and don't see to care. Why spend that kind of money when you only have her word on who or what the breeder is?

Guest

So you are mad you posted a public comment on a public page and then when people did not agree with you it needed to be removed? And we did not so we are unprofessional.

We did not make the comment or post it. You did. We never became defensive you just didn't like our answer.

It's seems alot of people feel that way when we do not do as they want. Sorry your comment you posted on our public page did not have the results you wanted.

You have 100% control of what posts are allowed to remain on your public page, Prada Puppies. Anyone can see that you delete constantly as the post count and visible posts are often WAY off. If people draw attention to the TRUE source of your puppies, or that their pet wasn't healthy, it's deleted immediately.

Don’t Do It!!!

Please save yourself and do not buy from Prada Puppies! We got an 8 week old puppy and it’s been nothing but problems. We took her to the vet for a check up once we got her and she has kennel cough and two different parasites (Giardia and Coccidiosis) which she gave everything to our other dog. On top of this she absolutely hates her crate. All dogs don’t like the crate but she cries and howls the whole time while in there no matter how long. She doesn’t settle herself down. This leads me to believe she spent too much time in a cage/crate before we got her. It’s really sad to see our sweet puppy go through all this. Please do your research!!

Sick puppie

I went to Jess on a Monday night my puppie was coughing on Tuesday so I took her to the vet he gave my cough pills so I called 3 days later and the gave me anabiotic. That didn't work I went back and got another anabiotic with more cough meds different brand and it finally cleared it up when I let Jess know she was angry, because I told her how much it cost me. First she said she would pay the vet bills then she told me I had to read my contract that I had to get the doctor to fill out a form saying that Puppie was unfit for sale . So when I read my contract with the consumer affairs it's the wrong number so she's giving everybody a contract with awrong number probably's she doesn't want anybody calling on her . Don't buy your puppies from Prada Puppies she doesn't care she doesn't check up on them and all she wants is her money . I hope she is reporting the money to the state because there a lot of money go in that home.

Of the remaining settlement amount, $58,134.41 in civil penalties and cost reimbursements to the State are suspended for a 30-month period and will be vacated if the settlement terms are not violated.Under the settlement, Durkin cannot sell a cat or dog within New Jersey without a history and health certificate containing the name and address of the person from whom she purchased the cat or dog; the breeder’s name and address and the litter number; the date Durkin took possession of the cat or dog; the date or dates on which the cat or dog was examined by a veterinarian, along with the findings made and the treatment, if any, taken or given to the cat or dog; the statement of all vaccinations or inoculations administered, including the identity and quantity of the vaccine or inoculum administered; and the date of administration of the vaccinations and inoculations; The settlement further prohibits Durkin from:selling a cat or dog within New Jersey without a history and health certificate containing a 10-point bold-face type "WARNING, " as required by the Pet Purchase Protection regulations;failing to maintain a copy of the history and health certificate signed by the consumer for a period of one year following the date of sale;failing to provide consumers with a "KNOW YOUR RIGHTS" statement detailing prior examinations and a "WAIVER OF REEXAMINATION RIGHTS;”failing to have purchased cats or dogs examined by a licensed veterinarian at least three days prior to delivery to the consumer;refusing to refund consumers' money after selling them a sick or defective cat or dog;refusing to reimburse consumers’ veterinary fees incurred prior to receipt of the veterinarian certification;failing to issue to consumers an ''Unfitness of Animal - Election Of Options" form for a cat or dog deemed unfit for purchase; andfailing to notify the Division of Consumer Affairs no later than five days of receipt of the "Unfitness of Animal - Election Of Options" certificate that the status is contested. As set forth in the State’s Complaint, Durkin allegedly violated New Jersey's Consumer Fraud Act and Regulations Governing the Sale of Animals through her sale of puppies that turned out to be sick and in need of expensive veterinary treatment.Investigator Donna Leslie, of the Division of Consumer Affairs Office of Consumer Protection, conducted this investigation.Deputy Attorney General Alina Wells, of the Consumer Fraud Prosecution Section within the Division of Law, represented the State in this matter. To learn more about the Pet Purchase Protection Act, click here. Typical of Jess. If you are lucky enough to truly get what you pay for then you are more than lucky.

It's sad that people like you don't really love animals, that you don't care that your dog's mother is subjected to a life of pure suffering just so you and those like you can buy a cheaply bred puppy. There is no health testing on these parent dogs to ensure the health of your puppy.

They have none of the comforts you afford your new baby, and most likely suffer with fleas, bad teeth and matter coats.

I dare you to research the breeder, really research, and tell us that your puppy came from the private home breeder you've been led to believe it did. At the minimum, do that, or know that you willingly support cruelty.

My sister got a dog from there and she is awesome as well! God forbid you don’t adopt!

I paid for my dog and I’m not ashamed of it or him!! I did what was right for my family. I also don’t judge people that adopt or rescue. They clearly did what was best for them or family members as well!!

Every dog deserves a good him! Glad you got a great dog!

There's nothing wrong with purchasing a dog as long as you are able to meet the parents of your puppy. If you cannot there's a reason, and it's almost always because the puppies are coming from deplorable puppy mills.

Pull your head out of the sand. Every time you buy from these greedy charlatans, you are telling them to make more.

And ensuring the mother lives her entire life with no vet care, toys, or any of the comforts you afford her puppies. Horrible.
